MAN AS A NATURAL DISASTER IN DRAWINGS AND QUOTATIONS (Germany)
Juliane Pieper illustrated book
«Man as a natural disaster»
is a collection of quotations from different works by famous
philosophers and writers, for which I have found suitable
illustrations. chapters «doom», «hybris», «progress», «good old days»
and “future”— throw light on the question «what are we doing here
actually?». The question about the state of the world is connected with
the one about the image of man. The book doesn’t inform and doesn’t
show the moralistic forefinger, but wants to entertain. It asks the
following questions: «Why has man upset the natural balance?», «What is
so dangerous in being a human being?». The book doesn’t instruct:
separate your garbage. It’s only giving hints. Good hints.
